When a client assigns you to a matter for billing, the matter appears on the Referred Matters page in CounselGO. For more information about this page, click here.
To view a matter record, go to Matters from the navigation bar on the left and then click on a row to open the record, which includes a list of any associated invoices.
TIP: You can also search for the matter by entering part of the Client Matter ID or matter name in the search box and then pressing enter on your keyboard.

The following attributes show on this page.

Name | Name of the matter |
Description | Client's description of the matter |
Client Matter ID | Unique ID generated by SimpleLegal to associate incoming invoices to the appropriate matter. Client Matter IDs are case sensitive. |
Open Date | Date the matter was published in SimpleLegal or last set to Open status (e.g., re-opened) |
Close Date | Date matter closed |
Bill Legal Entity | Entity established in SimpleLegal that can incur debt |
Invoices
Below the attributes, you can see a table of the invoices submitted against this matter.
The invoice table shows the following information:

Originator | Initials of the CounselGO user who submitted the invoice |
Date | Date of the invoice |
Number | Invoice number |
Subject | Invoice description |
Currency | Currency in which the invoice was submitted |
Total | Invoice total |
Status |
Whether an invoice is Received, On Hold, Paid, or Rejected |
Reason | If applicable for rejected/adjusted invoices, displays a comment icon. Clicking on it shows a preview of the reasons/notes provided by the reviewer in SimpleLegal |
Status Date | Date the invoice was set to this status |
